Alexandra Davidson took her first degree at Oxford University, where she held an Instrumental Scholarship. During her time in Oxford, she performed on the QE2 and took part in several concerts with Nigel Kennedy. Alex went on to study for her MMus degree at the Royal Academy of Music, where she held the David Richards Memorial Bursary, and won the Florence Woodbridge Bassoon Prize. She played first bassoon for RAM Sinfonia, and toured the UK and New York with Sir Elton John as a member of RAM Symphony Orchestra. Alex recently finished a season as co-principal bassoon of Southbank Sinfonia, which saw her play around the country at venues including Glyndebourne and the Wigmore Hall, and perform Weber’s Bassoon Concerto at the Deal Festival. Her orchestral work includes the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, London Soloists Chamber Orchestra and English Chamber Opera. |
