Jessica Tipton completed her postgraduate diploma at the Royal Academy of Music. Previously, she studied at the St Petersburg Conservatoire with former and current principals of the city’s Philharmonic Orchestra. At the Royal Academy of Music, while studying with Nicholas Rodwell (principal, Royal Opera House), she was selected for the London Symphony Orchestra woodwind/brass scheme and received a commendation for her playing in the RAM Hawkes Clarinet Prize. Jessica has performed with orchestras and chamber groups all over the country, including venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, Barbican, St. John’s Smith Square and Fairfield Halls, and on tours around Argentina, Western and Eastern Europe. She has been principal clarinet with the National Musicians’ Symphony Orchestra, New Sussex Opera and the Dartington Festival Orchestra, and played for the Britten-Pears Orchestra, Southbank Sinfonia, Midsummer Opera, Chelsea Opera Group and Salomon Orchestra. Jessica also holds a degree in Russian and French from Bristol University, where she received the Alumni Foundation Award for music. |
